LOCAL ATTRACTIONS

There are a wealth of local attractions to be found. Here a just a few:

Kinema in the Woods

In 1922 the pavilion of the the then Victoria Hotel was transformed into a cinema and is still in regular use today. The organ is still situated in Screen One and played regularly. The Kinema is believed to be the only full-time cinema in the UK still using rear projection.

RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) operates from RAF Coningsby, a Typhoon base, in Lincolnshire. The Flight operates six Spitfires, two Hurricanes, a Lancaster, a C47 Dakota, and two Chipmunk aircraft (primarily for training).

Tattershall Castle

Tattershall Castle is a magnificent medieval tower proudly rising from the flat Lincolnshire fens; a survivor of conflict, decay and restoration. Built of brick in an era of stone this fortified manor is one of the earliest and the finest surviving examples of medieval brickwork.

The Petwood Hotel

The Petwood, once home to the famous Dambusters in the heart of “Bomber County” is surrounded by acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, and is steeped in British history. Serving locally-sourced food, their chefs make every meal at the Petwood one to savour.
